Balancing sisterhood, school, life, and other activities may seem very intimidating, but all very worth it at the same time. When I was a freshman going through recruitment, my biggest concern was, “How am I going to balance my classes and make the most of my college experience?” As a Pre-Med major, I was already very nervous about my course load ahead of me. Through recruitment, I was told that I would find girls that would help push, encourage, and motivate me to not only achieve my goals in school but also excel in my long-term goals as well. I am so lucky to say that I found this in my sisters and best friends.

Whether it is studying dates at the commons, sitting next to a familiar face in class, or a sister just simply checking in to see how I am doing and how they can help. My sisters in ADPi are there for me in quite literally any situation. Although it may sound crazy, I truly believe that my pathway would have been a lot harder to succeed in without having my sisters by my side.

My biggest piece of advice to a future PNM who is worried about this balance is to find people who will be there for you and have your best intentions at heart. The friends who will stay home to help you study, bring you a coffee when you have a big exam, and ultimately the friends who will help you remember to put your goals first. College can be very difficult at times, but the people that you choose to have by your side can make the journey a lot easier.
